Book: Bridgerton: An Offer from a Gentleman

Author: Julia Quinn

Series: Bridgerton #3

Rating: 5/5

Spice scale: 1.5/5

Tropes: Cinderella retelling, regency romance

Plot: Sophie has one night to pretend she is living her dream, where she's anyone but an Earl's bastard daughter: the Bridgerton's masquerade ball. But when she meets Benedict Bridgerton, little does she know how persistent he will be and she begins to wonder how long her secrets will be able to remain secrets.

My thoughts:

Imagine Cinderella but in 1800s London and Prince Charming actually has a personality. By far my favorite Bridgerton novel so far (I'm sorry, Simon!). Benedict is so perfect and my heart ached for Sophie the entire time. Julia Quinn is also the queen of epilogues, and I thank the romance gods for her second epilogues.

I read almost the entire book in one day, it was addicting and I could hardly put it down. The writing was honestly beautiful, and the characters were fun to read. As excited as I am for Colin and Penelope, I am upset Netflix skipped this book, they better come back to it later.

I am not big on regency romance but I have to admit I am loving the Bridgerton series. Can't wait for Season 3!
