Book Review: Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

As a BookTok addict, of course I had to read Shadow and Bone, and then the Six of Crows duology. These books are amazing! Overall I give the Grishaverse a 8.5/10. They all start kind of slow, and were slow reads for me personally. But the world building and storyline in general is amazing.

Rating: 9.5/10

Crooked Kingdom is by far my favorite book from the Grishaverse so far (I have not read King of Scars or Rule of Wolves). Once again, started a little slow and it's really long, but everything else about this book is absolutely amazing.

Whenever you hear about this series, everyone talks about the amazing characters, which I definitely agree with. All of their backstories are well explained, really attaching you to each character. The relationships are so well drawn out, with LGBTQIA+ and interracial representation.

The world building overall in the Grishaverse is unbelieveable. I love everything she has done with it, from the creatures to the different powers to the idea of small science. Definitely keeps you captivated, and also gives you a little bit of a book hangover or gets you back into reading multiple books a week, there's no in between.

This book had my emotions all over the place. I was laughing, crying, angry, and confused at various points throughout this book. I can say this might be my favorite book I have read so far in 2021.
