Game Review: Hogwarts Legacy

I had a blast playing Hogwarts Legacy, and already started another game.

There are so many different aspects to the game, which I know is normal for an open-world game but it blew my mind as a brand new video gamer:

  • Battles with various enemies

  • Capture and care for beasts

  • Fly on brooms or hippogriffs

  • Find hidden rooms

  • Explore the various maps

  • Find chests or field guide pages

  • Decorate the room of requirement

  • Harvest your own potion ingredients and combat plants

  • Complete the main quest or side quests

All these amazing features don't even the amazing animation of this game! The scenery is gorgeous and the animation looks incredibly realistic.

As a major Harry Potter fan, I feel like we got enough of the Wizarding World we know and love that we get that sense of nostalgia and the excitement of being in the Wizarding World without feeling like you are just playing through the book or movie. There are no characters from the books besides the ghosts, but you will recognize some last names.

The story line was very unique and fun, and totally new for the Harry Potter world which I enjoyed.

I did have a couple glitches, but overall my game ran smoothly and I loved all the different aspects. It felt like a great introduction to video games. I did personally have to set it to easy, but now I am going through at normal for my second play.
